Daf says UK truckers have less than a month to get government help to buy a new truck-which could be worth £3,000 or more over its life. The deal on offer is a Reduced Pollution Certificate for Euro 5 trucks, worth up to £500 a year for the life of the vehicle and transferrable from on owner to the next. The catch is that it only pays out on trucks registered by 30 September 2009. "The RPC scheme stops as Euro 5 becomes law, so if you're thinking about a new truck you would do well to move quickly to capitalise on this one-off opportunity," says Tony Pain, UK marketing director at Daf Trucks.
