August bus and coach registration data from the SMMT suggest "tough times ahead for operators and bus suppliers" with an "uncertain outlook" for big buses. Coach figures were down nearly 50%. "The strong growth in big bus registrations will turn soon, on the back of low sales in the last few months," said Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive. "Manufacturers are very cautious and cutting capacity. Separately, coach registrations have dropped nearly 50%, for similar reasons."
